David Wayne Williams, age 53, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 26, 2023. He was born on February 2, 1969 to the late Victoria Williams and Byron Howard. Grandson of the late Victor Williams, Sr. and Helen Buckner. Mr. Williams was a native of New Orleans, LA and later moved to Houston, TX due to Hurricane Katrina. He was a graduate of St. Augustine High Schools Class of 1987, where he was a member of the Purple Knights Marching 100. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Beloved husband of Kendra S. Williams for 29 years. Loving father of Bailey and Kayla Williams. In addition to his wife and children, David is also survived by his brother, Michael Garett (Kelly); uncle, Victor Williams, Jr; aunts, Janice Green and Maggie Malone; mother-in-law, Catherine Schexnayder; father-in-law, Harold Johnson; sisters-in-law, Lynn Cooper and Lisa Schexnayder. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Garrett (Ivy) and sister-in-law, Kim Bryant. David was loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Pastor, Officers and members of The Asia and Friendship Baptist Churches, Union Bethel A.M.E.; Staff and employees of Continental Silverline and Hilton Hotel are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. David Wayne Williams will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10 am, Rev. Elijah McCarty, Officiating. Interment South East Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, LA 70460. Visitation 9 am in the chapel.
