Dean D'Arcangelo Obituary

Dean Anthony D'Arcangelo passed away suddenly on Friday, August 7, 2015. He was 46 years old, born on April 1, 1969. He is the son of Bernard D'Arcangelo and Mary Rose LaBruzzo D'Arcangelo and the youngest of his five siblings. Dean is survived by his brothers and sisters and their spouses: Joseph (Beth), Donna, Frank, Gina Kulick (Jude) and Carla Gittelson (Gary) and his loving nieces and nephews: Anthony Kulick, Christina D'Arcangelo, Nina Kulick, Mark Gittelson, Michael D'Arcangelo, Avan Gittelson, and Nicholas D'Arcangelo. He is also survived and loved by his many first cousins, their families, a large extended family of Italian cousins and his Irish 'adopted' family, the Markeys. He was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandparents, Mary Talluto LaBruzzo and Frank LaBruzzo and his paternal grandparents, Mary Aiavolasiti D'Arcangelo and Joseph D'Arcangelo. Dean attended De La Salle High School for 4 years and graduated from East Jefferson High School. He later became a certified auto mechanic, as well as a certified wheelchair and medical equipment technician, working as an expert in both fields. In addition, Dean worked for many years in the auto parts industry. He was also a drummer, enjoying a long relationship with the Nobles band until their retirement. He took every opportunity to go fishing with friends, or work on restoring his beloved Chevy Nova. Dean would light up a room with his smile. He was the loving "Uncle Dean" to all his nieces and nephews and to the children of his friends. A lifelong resident of Metairie, Louisiana, Dean leaves a void in the lives of all that knew and loved him and will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held immediately following at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 6425 West Metairie Avenue in Metairie at 12:00 noon. Interment will be private. The online guestbook is available at www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.

Dean D'Archangelo you were shining light of goodness in our lives. Everyone who was lucky enough to know you was truly blessed by your infectious smile and heart warming friendship. You would do anything for anyone and ask for nothing in return. While it is so sad to say goodbye to you, I will always be inspired by how you lived. You touched so many people with your genuine love and friendship. You also were a BIG reason why The Nobles were so successful. Thank you so much for being part of my life. To the D'Arcangelo family:
I will always remember all of you as the best neighbors on Cardinal street. It's been over 30 years since I've moved to Florida but every time I come visit my mother on your street, it has been so nice to run into Ms. Rose & Mr. Bernard & a few months ago, Donna. I haven't seen Dean since he was very young but it breaks my heart to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace in God's loving arms. My thoughts & prayers are with the entire family.

Dear Members of the D'Arcangelo Family,

My deepest condolences on the sudden passing of Dean. I knew Dean as a member of the Nobles Band. He was always pleasant to be around and his smile was contagious.

As a school principal, I must unfortunately attend the funerals of people who die suddenly or tragically.
Sometimes we are at a loss for words to say in such circumstances. The following is a poem I composed following the sudden and tragic death of my own daughter at age 20. I hope it brings your family God's peace.

On Peace For The Bereaved

What can be said at times like these,
when life deals a blow, which brings us to our knees

Suffering so deep it strikes the core of our being, causing thoughts and questions of life's very meaning

Pain so acute it consumes and wrenches, sadness so poignant it numbs the senses

We carry our cross because of man's sin, but God conquered death;Salvation is through Him

And peace can be found in faith, hope, and love, virtues which bring Divine Healing from above

We are very saddened to learn of Dean's passing.Gary and I were neighbors of the family when we bought our first house on Cardinal. We lived across the street at 1009. Dean always had a smile on his face and was always very polite. We moved to Ohio 16yrs. ago and we still miss our neighbors. The D'Arcangelos never left our hearts. The best neighbors anyone could ask for. We will keep the entire family in our thoughts and prayers. May God's love give you strength during such a difficult time.

Much love,

I have not seen Dean in many years but I remember his smile and his kindness that he showed me when he was around me. He would do anything for anyone. I remember he had a job working at a pizza place many years ago and he made us a delicious seafood pizza. He brought it to Frank and Robin's apartment. I have so many wonderful memories of Dean. Dean, may God welcome you into his beautiful kingdom and the angles welcome you with their lovely song. Frank, you and your family are in my prayers. May God wrap his loving arms around you and your family during this time of sorrow. ))))HUGS((((
