Deborah Leonard Obituary

Deborah Cantrell Leonard, 63, of Slidell, LA, on Sunday, November 2, 2014, passed away after a long battle with muscular dystrophy. Loving wife of Scott E. Leonard, beloved mother of the late Derek E. Thomas; daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emile A. Cantrell; granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William B. Cantrell and the late Mr. and Mrs Earnest A. Serio. Survived by her sister, Lelia C. Manale (Vincent), mother-in-law, Joyce Dummet Leonard. Sister-in-law of Jon (Mary), Rene (Deana) Leonard, Lynn Boudreaux (Jimmy), and Lorna Ammond (Marty). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles and friends. Deborah was a retired employee of Boasso America Corporation. Thanks to ComForcare caregivers Katrina and Michaela and longtime friends Joycelyn and Judy. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 9:00am until 11:00am, with a mass to follow at 11:00am, at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA. Burial will follow in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Derek Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund at Pope John Paul II High School, 1901 Jaguar Drive, Slidell LA 70461. So sorry for your loss. Debbie was always that happy, bubbly, friendly person so many loved her so much. I had the pleasure to work with Debbie at Dependable Container. She was truly an angel. After all these years I still remember when she got me a raise at that job. She was always trying to help everyone. We were not only coworkers but became very close friends. I will miss her! RIP Debbie. Your work is done. On earth and look what awaits you now, everlasting eternal life.
