Deborah Burton "Debo" Scott

1955 - 2023

Deborah (Debo) Burton Scott was born July 22, 1955, to the late Richard Burton Sr. and Alma Jacques Burton. She departed on October 29, 2023, at the age of 68. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Scott, a union of 38 years. Her infant son Earl Burton, her infant granddaughter Kimberly Macon, her brothers Lloyd Burton, Richard Burton Jr., Jacque Burton. She was the sixth child of seven children. Her surviving siblings Marilyn Gibbs, Darryl Burton Sr. (Caffienne), Beverly Burton. Deborah attended elementary school at St. Monica Catholic School. Also, she attended Booker T. Washington High School in New Orleans. She enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino as well as sitting on her porch with family and friends. Her house was the meeting place where she enjoyed life. She will be sadly missed. She leaves behind five (5) children Dwayne (Wanda) Burton, Teaaka Burton, Jamal (Irnesha) Burton Sr. Shantell Burton, and Lynell Burton (Twins). Nine (9) grandchildren, Omar Burton, Terrica Burton, Mikah Burton, Jarmal Sims Jr., Janae Burton, Braylon Macon, Genesis Burton, Jamal Buton Jr., and Makaila Toussaint,. She also leaves behind to cherish two (2) Great grandchildren, Denver Burton, Khai Burton, and a great grandson on the way. Godchildren - Patrice Burton, and Gralyn Burton. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration of life services on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave. New Orleans La. 70125 at 1:00 pm.
