On January 7, 2022, Demontre' Smith was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Demontre' Smith was born on April 19, 1998, at Touro Hospital to Lanell Smith and Gregory Newman. He was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. He attended College Prep Elementary, Live Oak Middle School, Walter L. Cohen Sr. High and The Net Central City. He was engaged to Javontae Riley, whom he loved. Demontre' was a sweet and loving father of two: daughter Demi Smith and son Demontre' Smith, Jr. He was a caring father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed drawing, and dancing-even though he had no rhythm. Demontre' leaves to cherish his memories his mother Lanell Smith- Scott, father Arthur Scott, two sisters: Kathy Smith and Ashley Scott; fiancé Javontae Riley, daughter Demi Smith, son Demontre Smith Jr., step-sister Armonie Alexander and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Reunited in heaven with his grandmother Cathy Smith, great grandmother Lula Mae Martin, aunt Joann Smith-Dixon, brother Mike Smith, uncle Tracy Smith, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, January 15, 2022, for 11:00 a.m. at The Carver Theater, 2101 Orleans Ave, New Orleans, LA 70116. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park, Metairie, LA. Due to Covid-19, all attendees are Required to wear face masks.
