Dennis D. Blankenship

1943 - 2018

Dennis D. Blankenship, 74 of Circleville, passed away August 20, 2018 at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born on December 6, 1943 in Williamsport to the late James and Verna (McCoy) Blankenship. He previously worked for Arcair and Midwest Manufacturing before retiring from Circleville Township.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce (Beatty) Blankenship; children, Karen Weaver Blankenship, Sharon Blankenship, and Jerry Blankenship all of Circleville; grandchildren, Codye Reed, Levi (Cassie) Johnson, and Autumn Chapman; great grandchildren Caden Reed, Tatum, Amyia, Aubree, and Bentley Johnson; brother, Jim Blankenship of Lancaster; sister Carolyn Blankenship of Greenfield, and special cousin, "sister" Lucille Alley of Lancaster; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dennis D. Blankenship, Jr.; brothers, Lawrence and Earnest Blankenship; and sisters, Emma Sowers and Peggy Seymour.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m.. on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda, with Pastor Mike Sigler officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
