Donald King Obituary

Mr. Donald Lucius King Sr., a resident of New Orleans and a wonderful husband, father and friend, peacefully passed away on November 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. King was born in New Orleans on September 19, 1933 to the late Mr. Edward and Mrs. Dorothy King. Donald successfully attended Tulane University followed by Tulane Law School and became a licensed lawyer in Louisiana. He faithfully served in the Air Force as a Lieutenant and worked as a JAG officer. In 1959 he joined the Law Firm of Jones Walker where he practiced Admiralty Law until his retirement in 2003. He was a truly honorable man who loved the practice of law. Mr. King was a member of a number of Carnival groups and social clubs including The School of Design, The Boston Club, The Louisiana Club and The Stratford Club. He instilled in his family a love of New Orleans and Mardi Gras in particular. Donald was a sports fanatic and dearly loved the New Orleans Saints, Tulane Green Wave and St. Louis Cardinals. His autographed Stan "The Man" Musial baseball will be placed with him as he thoroughly enjoys his teams' many future Super Bowl and World Series wins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward G. King and Dorothy Marks King; brothers, Edward G. King II and Robert King and his eldest daughter, Anne Scott King. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lucile Monsted King; children, Catherine King Peloquin (Charles), Donald Lucius King, Jr.(Lisa), Charles Edward King (Patricia) and William N. King (Amy); grandchildren, Stephanie Marks Peloquin, Matthew Charles Peloquin, Wells Scott King, Bess Kennedy King, Anne Lindsey King, Scott Charles King, Christian Monsted King, William Anderson King, Samantha Scott King, and Michael Lucius King. Dearest King family,
I love you all, and I loved your dad. He was a great man, and a fine example of how to live. You were very blessed to have him in your lives, and I know this is a terrible loss.

I wish I could be there on Monday, but G will be there to give you all hugs from me, but I will give them to you in person the next time we meet.

Love you buckets,
Darcie

Sending prayers for Mr. King and his family. He was always smiling at JOWA when I was there for many years. What a wonderful obituary. He is looking down on his family and friends from Heaven Above. May he rest in peace, Amen.
