Donald Thriffiley Obituary

Donald Anthony Thriffiley Sr., a retired Systems Analyst for the Department of Agriculture, died at Ochsner Foundation Hospital on Tuesday, May 6, 2003. Age 78 years. Beloved husband of Antoinette Monteleone Thriffiley of New Orleans. Father of Donald Anthony Thriffiley Jr., Eileen Mary Thriffiley and Kenneth Bernard Thriffiley, all of New Orleans. Father-in-law of Kimberly Dobson Thriffiley. Grandfather of Donald Anthony Thriffiley III and Allison Ann Thriffiley of Thomasville, GA. Son of the late James Cornelius Thriffiley Sr., of New Orleans and the late Ruby Dubourg Thriffiley of Mandeville, LA. Brother of Mrs. Joyce T. Conway and the late James Cornelius Thriffiley Jr. Mr. Thriffiley was a U.S. Army WWII veteran attached to SHAFF command G-5 Liberated Areas, Secretary & Treasurer of SHAFF Veterans Assn., Past Grand Knight and Financial Secretary of Knights of Columbus Hall #4547, President of FABRICO, member of American Legion, NARFE, Redundant Characters, Senior Friends, Par None, The VIP's and Treasurer of the Kenilworth Civic and Improvement Assn. A graduate of St. Aloysius and attended Loyola University. A devoted husband, father and friend and will be sadley missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Friday, May 9, 2003 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. Roch Cemetery #2. Visitation Thursday evening 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM and Friday morning 11:00 AM until Service Time. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Ochsner Clinic Foundation for Leukemia Research, 1514 Jefferson Hwy., Jefferson, LA 70121.
