Donna Lynn Williams

1947 - 2016

Donna Lynn Williams, a retired employee of BellSouth Services – South Central Bell and cosmetologist, who, after a lengthy illness, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2:10 a.m. at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Ms. Williams was a native and resident of New Orleans until her displacement by Hurricane Katrina to Houston, Texas. A graduate of Walter L. Cohen Senior High School and Stevenson Cosmetology School, Donna was the beloved and cherished mother of Rachele M. Williams, MD of Houston and the loving grandmother of Lilliana Donna and Laila Donna Watson. Ms. Williams was the eldest child born October 28, 1947 to the union of the late Arthur E. and Bessie Sellers Williams, Sr.; sister of Ava L. Nelson, MD, Arthur, Jr. (Rose) and Anita Williams and godmother of Donnis Osbey. Carol Greer, Tina McKinney and Sheila Seals provided laudable care during her illness. Ms. Williams is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Family and friends, former and retired employees of BellSouth Services - South Central Bell, parishioners of St. Phillip Neri, Houston, St. Matthias (now Blessed Trinity) and St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Churches, Walter L. Cohen Senior High School Class of 1965, members of The Pioneer Club, Tulane University Medical School are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 2015 Louisiana Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana at 10:30 a.m.., Msgr. John Ciszewski, celebrant. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Traditional jazz funeral to follow. Interment St. Louis #3 Cemetery and Mausoleum. Arrangements by Duplain W.
