RENZ Doris Veronica Ritzmann Renz 1923-2013 New Orleans, LA Mrs. Doris Renz, age 89, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in Baton Rouge. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Doris was born on July 8, 1923 in New Orleans, LA and was in the first graduation class of Francis T. Nichols High School. In 1944, she married Lawrence Renz, Sr. also of New Orleans. In 1960 they moved to Arabi, LA. After her children were grown she became a loyal and enthusiastic employee of Sears Roebuck Co. She was a member of the Nichols HS Choir and was very active as a pitcher in the CYO Girl's Softball League. She was an avid Major League Baseball fan her entire life. Dottie was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Arabi, LA until Hurricane Katrina. "Dottie" was preceded in death by her parents Mr. And Mrs. John Ritzmann; her husband of 60 years, Lawrence W. Renz, Sr.; and her son, Larry Renz, Jr. She is survived by her daughters: Veronica Renz Sprinkle of Long Beach, MS., Sandra Renz Reeson (Curt) of Baton Rouge, and Rosemarie Renz Huguet (Mike) of Greenwell Springs, LA. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Lauren Sprinkle Hymel, David Sprinkle, Paul Reeson, Greg Reeson, Daniel Reeson, Dottie Reeson Messina, Eryk Renz, Jillian Renz Hearty, Shannon Renz and sixteen Great-Grandchildren. St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, April 12, 2013 - 10 AM - Noon. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at noon followed by interment in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
