Dorothy E. Hibbard Saginaw Twp., Michigan
Dorothy Hibbard, 84, of Saginaw, Michigan, went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 7, 2024. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on February 9, 1940, to Edward and Helen (Howerter) Thielbar. Dorothy graduated as part of the last graduating class from Walworth High School in 1958 and married her high school sweetheart, Neil, on October 7, 1961.
Neil and Dorothy lived in Walworth until 1964, when Neil took a position at Everbright Sign Company, and they relocated to South Milwaukee. Shortly thereafter, they purchased their first home in Oak Creek and began raising their family. In 1972, Dorothy continued her career in bookkeeping and enjoyed her profession until retirement in 2009. Retirement was enjoyed in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and then later in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. In 2016, Dorothy moved to Saginaw, Michigan where she resided until her death.
Her favorite hobbies were quilting, genealogy, and playing cards with her family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Neil in 2016. She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Christenson of Ozark, Missouri, daughters Laurie (Dr. John) Llewelyn of Saginaw, Michigan, Julie Hibbard of Des Moines, Iowa and Bethany (Jim) Sherman of Holmen, Wisconsin, eight grandchildren, Dr. Garrett (Dr. Kelly) Llewelyn, Jay (Tessa) Llewelyn, Olivia (Chris) Carter, Charity (Jeremy) Wagner, Dr. Matthew Waro, Kallie Anne (Nick) Clyde, Jacob Waro (fiancé Courtney Brucker) and Kamryn Sherman along with four great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held in April 2025 at Hopevale Church in Saginaw, Michigan.
