Douglas Charles Jones Sr.

Douglas Charles Jones, Sr. was born with love on October 1, 1952 to the late Alfred and Alister Jones in New Orleans, LA. Doug was a product of New Orleans Public and Catholic schools. He attended Alfred Lawless Elementary and Junior High Schools and became the first Non-Catholic to receive a scholarship to ST. Augustine High School where he graduated from with a High School Diploma. He also attended the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on a full Music Scholarship. Douglas final days were spent enjoying life in Lafayette, Louisiana surrounded by family and friends. Douglas leaves, his loving sister, Helen Anthony; children, Shawn King, Delisa, Necol, Alister Jean, Delaney, Courtney Blankenship, Douglas, Jr., and a devoted friend, Patty Hurst; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and associates to cherish the love and fond memories they shared. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 9200 I-10 Service Rd., NOLA for 4:00 pm. Visitation begins at 3:00 pm. Burial is Private.
