Earl "PeeWee" Thomas Jr.

1956 - 2024

Earl "PeeWee" Thomas Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on April 4, 2024. He was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Bertha Wright- Thomas and Earl Thomas Sr., on December 17, 1956. Earl was a true New Orleanian through in and through out his life and legacy deeply interwoven with the community he loved and served. Earl attended Joseph S. Clark High School. He later joined the military. In 1993, he married his high school sweetheart, the late Gwendolyn Porea Thomas. Sadly, Earl was preceded in death by his parents, and five of his siblings: Stanley Wright, Robert Wright, Jimmy Wright, Paulette Thomas, and Earl Thomas II. His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: children, Shantell Thomas, Earl Thomas lV, Terrell Williams, Damon Porea, and Angelisa Harris; siblings, Georgiana Weathersby, Willie Mae McDowell, Don Thomas and Bertha Howard; grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. Earl Thomas Jr. will be remembered as His legacy will live on in the bridges he built, both in steel and in the hearts of those who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to the Celebration of Life for Earl Thomas, Jr. at Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip St, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Visitation at 9:00 AM. Interment: Southeast LA Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Dr., Slidell, LA 70460.
