Earl P. Thompson Jr.

Earl P. Thompson Jr. entered into enteral rest on March 23, 2022, at the age of 50 in Fort Worth, Texas. Earl was born in New Orleans, LA. He moved to Grand Prairie, Texas in November 2006. Earl was a former Behavior Specialist for Duncanville ISD and Former 5th grade/SpEd Teacher in Irving ISD, Grand Prairie ISD, Dallas ISD and Richardson ISD. Earl was the founder and head coach of DFW Hornets AAU boys and girls Basketball team. Earl leaves his legacy to his loving and devoted wife of 19 years LaToya Minor Thompson, and his beautiful sons Tahj and Ty'ron. Earl was the loving son of the Late Sandra Lewis Thompson and Earl P. Thompson Sr. He is survived his brother Lamont Thompson (Modesunique), uncle Elroy Thompson (Brenda) of Atlanta, GA, mother-in-law Mary A. Minor of Fort Smith, Arkansas; sisters-in-law: Mary G. Minor of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Denise Barnett (Perry) of Mississippi, Danita Sterling (Rodney) of New Orleans, LA; brother-in-law Larry Minor (Joan) of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Rayshawn Hall (Keryatti) of New Orleans, LA; two aunts, Pamela Ambrose (Louis) and Denise Lewis of Fort Worth, TX. Earl is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy., New Orleans, LA 70126. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Mausoleum, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave., New Orleans, LA 70122. Due to COVID-19, all attendees are required to wear face masks.
