Early Jacobs Obituary
Mr. Jacobs, 59, of Charlotte, departed this life on Friday, April 2, 2010. He was born April 1, 1951 in Robeson County, NC, a son of the late Clem and Ola Jacobs.
For 26 years, Mr. Jacobs was employed by MAL Industries.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by his brothers, John C. Jacobs, Datry Jacobs, Farfell Jacobs and sister, Dorothy Lee Jacobs.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rita Jacobs; sisters, Geraldine Strickland of Pembroke, NC, Mary Stewart and Ann Hunt of Lumberton, NC, Vivian Burnette of Charlotte, NC and Margaret Jones of Pembroke, NC, who was also a dedicated caregiver; brothers, James Jacobs of Charlotte, Clem Jacobs, Jr. of Midland, NC and Robert Jacobs of Lumberton, NC; dedicated sister-in-law Elsie Jacobs; very special brothers &sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving, is a loyal friend, David Baucom.
Funeral service for Mr. Jacobs will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in the Dilworth Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Crown Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, April 5, 2010 at the funeral home.

I lost one of my BEST Friend's ever..Ray was one of a kind. He had a Heart of gold, I wiss miss him very much. My prayers are with Rita & family . God Bless Ya'll

Rita, family & friends. I am sorry to here about Early Ray. Early Ray was like a big brother I never had. He would always lift me up when I was sad. He was always smiling and laughing. I'm glad he was in my life. I loved him very much. He will be greatly missed by me. I'll always remember him. The gentle and caring man. My prayers are with Rita, family & friends. God Bless Yall.

Early Ray had a major impact in my life. I owe so much to him for everything he taught me. I am glad I got the opportunity to tell him that when I asked him to be in my wedding. I will miss him so much, his sense of humor, his picking on me all the time, watching him laugh until he cried, watching him get so upset at me he would hit me with a piece of wood, hammer, or just anything that was close by. I could always call on him to help me out with any problems I had and he would be there to assist me in straightening them out. Early Ray, I love you and I'm going miss you.
The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God.

Rita I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I loved Early Ray so much he was always making me laugh and always was the most generous and kind person. He will be missed greatly by all of his friends and family. I will keep you in my prayers.

Uncle Ray and his sense of humor will be sorely miss. Our last time together was a time of laughter and him joking around - I'll never forget it. Aunt Rita, we are deeply sorry for your loss. I am resting in the comfort that Uncle Ray is no longer in pain, but in a far better place. What a blessing that he went to be with our Lord on Good Friday!
