Edith McCoy Obituary

McCOY Edith Wadlington McCoy, a resident of Christwood Retirement Community in Covington, La. since October 1996, passed away on July 31, 2009. Beloved mother of William C. McCoy of Mandeville, La. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Anna M. McCoy and her two grandchildren, Michael and Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Colonel Carey B. McCoy from Gilbert, La. Mrs. McCoy was born on August 24, 1913 in Hopkinsville, Ky. She spent most of her life in the Washington D.C. area, Texas, Maine, Mississippi and Shreveport, La. for 28 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Hwy 80 East, Haughton, La. Internment: Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, La. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to service time. The McCoy family wishes to thank the staff of Christwood Retirement Community for their excellent care of Mrs. McCoy while she was a resident there for the past 13 years. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
