Dr. Edmund Engler Jeansonne Jr.

Dr. Edmund Engler (Bo) Jeansonne, Jr., 74, of Luling, LA, died Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Oschner Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Edmund Engler and Mildred Hatrel Jeansonne. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Cheryl Melancon Jeansonne; three sons, Dr. Gregory Jeansonne (Susan); Christopher Jeansonne (Amy); Bradley Jeansonne (Halcyone); stepdaughters, Tracy B. Richard (Ricky), and Brandi B. Benoit (Mack); grandchildren, Noel Jeansonne, Beau Jeansonne, Lucien Jeansonne, Austin Richard, Abby Richard, Madison Benoit, and Noah Benoit. He is also survived by his siblings, Mildred Spahn, James Jeansonne, Suzanne Duplantier; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Greene, Peggy M. Bell, Lana M. Pennison; many beloved nieces and nephews, extended family and many dear friends. Dr. Bo grew up in a Navy family, spending his early life in a variety of places including Annapolis and Bethesda, MD, Puerto Rico and New Orleans. He graduated from Loyola Dental School in New Orleans, served in the US Navy and was stationed in Pensacola during the Vietnam War. Dr. Bo continued his education as he specialized in Orthodontics and served his patients for over 40 years. Bo was an avid hunter and accomplished outdoorsman. It brought him great joy to be a part of nature, care for the land and share it with those he loved, including his sweet chocolate lab, Annie. Services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Holy Family Church, 155 Holy Family Lane, Luling, LA 70070. Visitation will be 9-11 AM followed by mass at 11AM.
