Edna Marie Lewis entered peacefully into heaven on Wednesday March 25, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 80. A born in Natchitoches, La, raised in Tampa, Fl and a long time resident of New Orleans, La. Daughter of the late Charlie Calhoun and Algertha Stewart. Devoted wife of the late Herbert Lewis Sr. Devoted and cherished mother of Betty Knight, Herbert Lewis Jr. (Jennifer), Michael Lewis (Bernadette), Deborah Knighten (Donald), Lathisha Knighten (Elliot), Laverne Lewis and the late Herbert Lewis, Jr. Loving sister of Blanche Rollins and the late Jasper and Johnnie Calhoun, and Emma Winn, proud grandmother of Reginald Knight, Natasha Knight-Turner (Keith), Damond Knight, Michael Harris (Shoney), Tikesha Knighten-Franklin (Herbert), Thomas Harris (Renata), Tameka Harris, Kelly Harris, Daron Harris, Tanyell Harris, Trell Harris, Glenn Harris, Henry Charles, Josh Charles, Jacobi Lewis, Waune O'conner (Danielle), Herbert Lewis III, Gregory Offray (Denara), Arielle Bax Kentrell Lewis-Coleman (Byron), Kelsi Lewis, Destiny Domengeax, Derrick Domengeax Jr. and a host of great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister in law Mitty Calhoun and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. "Mother" was a retired cafeteria nutritionist for the Jefferson Parish Public School System, and enjoyed cooking, bingo, going on bus rides and yearly trips to Las Vegas. Relatives and friends of the family also pastor, officers and members of My Redeemer Baptist Church are invited to attend funeral services at My Redeemer Baptist Church 2829 Washington Ave. New Orleans, LA 70113 on Monday April 6, 2015 at 11:00 am.
