Edward J. Corcoran Sr.

Edward J. Corcoran, Sr. went to his heavenly home on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born and raised in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of Kenner for over 60 years. Eddie attended Warren Eastern High School. He was a member of the Local 60 Plumbers and Steamfitters for over 50 years. He worked for Mechanical Construction Company (MCC) for 37 years and while working there he worked part time with the City of Kenner recreation department. Upon retiring from MCC he started working full time with the City of Kenner and retired in 2019 to enjoy time with his family. He truly loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his dog Beaux. Some of his favorite hobbies were watching sports, going to the Fairgrounds, annual family Orange Beach trips, Good Friday crawfish boils and eating good desserts. Eddie's passion for sports stems back to his childhood days at Stallings playground. He was a huge LSU and Saints fan. Eddie coached many teams, various age groups and all-star teams for over 25 years at Wentwood playground. He also played men's softball for various teams for many years. Eddie was also a member of the Krewe of Endymion for many years when he served as the King of Endymion in 1977. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents Angelina Diliberto Corcoran and Edward James Corcoran also his siblings, Joyce (Scuddy) C. Fontenelle, Pamela (George) C. Creath and Michael (Nancy) F. Corcoran. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Linda Normand Corcoran; his loving children: Eddie (Lisa) J. Corcoran, Jr., Dena (Brett) C. Mayer, Ricky Corcoran, Mike (Jennifer) A. Corcoran, Sr. and Brad (Sabrina) K. Corcoran, Sr.

It was Eddie's privilege to be the grandfather of nine grandchildren: Kristyn (Jason) C. Schellhaas, Alexandra (Josh) M. Smira, Ariel (Dylan) M. Lucich, Mike (Kaitlyn) A. Corcoran, Benjamin M. Corcoran, Jack E. Corcoran, Brad K. Corcoran, Jr., Bryanna K. Corcoran and Hailey E. Eckhardt. He was also a great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren: Ellie and Everett Schellhaas, Dakota, Denver and Durham Smira, Kohen and Kullen Lucich. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a service at 12:00 p.m.
