Eileen Linda Griffin Fleischmann

Eileen Linda Griffin Fleischmann departed this life on Monday, April 23, 2018, in Portland, Oregon. Thank God she died peacefully, and at the time of her death she was living in Portland, under the care and watchful eye of her loving daughter, Marie, who lived nearby. Eileen was 76 years of age, having been born in New Orleans, and living there until she moved to Portland. She graduated from Francis T. Nicholls Senior High School in 1959, attended nursing school at and graduated as a registered nurse from Mather School of Nursing at Southern Baptist Hospital where she was a treasured head nurse, primarily on the medical-surgical unit. Eileen was a devoted wife to Edwin Roger Fleischmann, Jr. from 1963 to 1994. She was a loving and proud mother of three children, Michele Fleischmann Faulkner, Robert Olen Fleischmann, and Marie Fleischmann Timbreza, all of whom survive her. Eileen enjoyed gardening, cooking, drinking good coffee, listening to music, and spending time with her beloved dogs, Izzy and Lily. She was preceded in death by her father, Olen Clifford Griffin, her mother, Margaret Ada Marz, her brothers, Jack Ferrel Griffin, and Joseph Patrick Griffin,(Sr.); sister, June Griffin Zara; grandparents John Georg Marz and Ada Margaret Marz; great grandparents John Daniel Griffin and Lucy Jackie Griffin. She is also survived by her sister Gaynell Griffin Dupree, her son-in-law, T Timbreza, granddaughters, Caitlin Grace and Emma Anne, and her devoted nephew, Kenneth Richard Nieto. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124 on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11 o'clock.
