Eliza Taylor James departed this life on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in Baton Rouge, LA at 95 years old. She was the daughter of the late Isham and Lizzie R. Taylor. A lifelong resident of St. Rose, LA. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Eliza was the mother of the late Edward W. James, Jr. She was the youngest of 13siblings. She is survived by 3 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Eliza was a dedicated employee of Tulane Medical Library until retiring. A member of Solid Rock Christian Fellowship in Kenner. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, and members of Solid Rock, Fifth African and Mount Zion Baptist Church of St. Rose; employees of White Oak Post Acute, Baton Rouge, LA and Children's Specialty Clinic, Metairie, LA are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 11:00 am, Solid Rock Christian Fellowship Church, 1817 Rev. Richard Wilson Dr. (formerly 3rd St.), Kenner, LA 70062. Visitation from 10:00 am until time of service. Apostle Clarence Vinnett officiating. Due to COVID, masks are required.
