Elizabeth M. "Betty" Sullivan

Elizabeth M. "Betty" Sullivan passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 99. She was born on Sunday, December 7, 1924, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her childhood was spent with her family in Arcola, Louisiana. The family moved to Metairie, Louisiana when she was 12 years old. Betty attended St. Stephen Elementary School in New Orleans. She then attended Metairie High School and graduated in 1942. She is preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" E. Sullivan, who passed away in 1981. She is also preceded in death by her parents John and Cecile Cahill Meunier and her brother John "Jack" Meunier. Betty is survived by her son, John "Jack" P. Sullivan (Donna) and her daughter, Andree K. Sullivan; granddaughters, Erin Sullivan Copeland (Ron) and Ali Sullivan (Mike Lirette); great-grandchildren, Ella, Tripp, and August Copeland. Betty spent her early adult years working as a legal secretary. She was also a wife, mom, and lifetime friend to many. Betty lived life her way. She enjoyed shopping, reading, traveling, and sitting on the patio sipping a glass of wine while birdwatching. But Betty's greatest love throughout her life was always her family. The family would like to give special thanks to the hospice staff at Interim Healthcare for their support and care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.Instead of flowers, the family suggests donating to your favorite charity.Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.
