Mills and Abby, what an interesting and hilariously droll mother you were lucky enough to have! I really only knew Ellen from when we carpooled together at Trinity, but I will never forget how we first met: she pulled up in her car alongside me when I was walking our large dog Spud, and told me she was the reason he often returned home from escaping our fenced yard with a glossy coat and smelling of shampoo-she would take him into her house, bring him upstairs and give him a bath in her tub. I knew instantly this gorgeous, impeccably dressed woman with the sparkling eyes was like no one else in New Orleans (or anywhere, really). She truly was one of a kind, and she will be greatly missed.

To the Baker Family,
I do not know your loved one or anyone in your family, however, I wanted to say I read her obituary (her eyes caught my attention as well). What a beautiful chapter to add to her memories for your future generations. Too often families forget to share the wonderous events and people who made our lives the best they could be. I extend my prayers and condolences to all of you.

I´m so sad to learn of Ellen´s death. She was so much fun to work with at our stationery store. She was so creative in decorating the store and so entertaining to the customers and to us. She was such a bright light. My condolences to Alex and Mills and their families.

I loved and respected Ellen as a treasured friend, and will deeply miss her and our wonderful often hilarious conversations over too many years to count. She was a unique and talented being.

Ellen was a wonderful friend and I am lucky to have known her. She was kind (delivering bags of groceries right after my children were born), incredibly creative (those littered shoes!), thoughtful (yearly advent calendars for my girls) and wickedly fun (too many stories to count). She will be missed.
