I think of her so often. She was such a beautiful soul and will always hold a very special place in my heart. Fun fact: Dr. Kruger delivered me 26 years ago and my twin boys 3 years ago. During my pregnancy and giving birth, she remained my safe space. She encouraged me, supported me, and reassured me at all times. She also supported my decision to continue the pregnancy with knowledge of the heart defect of my late baby boy. She´ll always be in my heart. Miss you dearly!

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Kruger passing she has been my doctor and occasional confidant for 18 years I am so devastated to hear that she is gone I just lost my mother 3 weeks ago and I feel for her family and know what they are going theougj rest in heaven Dr. Krugwr may your legacy live on.

As I sit here in Ochsner Baptist pre-op appt, Dr. Kruger ran across my mind. I was a resident of Och Bap mother ward for 7 weeks for round the clock monitoring for my mono mono twins... Dr. Kruger intoduced herself the 2nd day I was there and she checked on me daily. Dr.Kruger preformed an emergency c-section delivering my twin on Christmas 2015!!! The next day she my twins their 1st ornament! She had such a beautiful spirit!!! I loved her from the start!! My nurse just informed me of her passing and I immediately started crying!! Needless to say I am extremely shocked and saddened by the lost of such an AMAZING doctor!!! So sorry for her family, friends, co-workers and former patients!! You are forever in my prayers!!!

I´m seventy one years old so I´ve seen my share of men and women in the medical field. Ellen Kruger was always at the top of my list. I was heartbroken to hear about her passing. While Kelsey was in town, I would run into her at the JCC and the first thing I always asked was how her mom was doing. Hearing about her passing was heartbreaking both as a doctor, a friend and a mother. She wii be greatly missed.

I am so sad to hear of
Dr Kruger´s passing, having just found out. I had to read & reread thru her obituary in disbelief. I know she loved life. She always asked about my recent trips, knowing I traveled since my retirement. She delighted in telling of her scuba diving travels with her husband.
Her smile remains with me.

Words cannot express how shocked I am to learn of the passing of Dr. Kruger. She was my OB/Gyn for years. Dr. Kruger never met a stranger and always found time to discuss family during visits. She was such an amazing person and doctor. She will be missed so very much. My prayers are with her children, husband and family.

I met Ellen as my doctor and she felt more like a friend. I would see her at the parades with Lady Godiva and she knew who I was and gave me some cool throws. The horseshoe hangs above my door. She was vibrant and beautiful and so smart. I was saddened when she left Ochsner and even more now that I just heard she has passed. I just hope she is appreciated where she is now as much as she is loved by everyone that knows her here. Prayers for her family

Dr. Kruger delivered my daughter at main campus . She was so genuine, kind, and made her patients feel special.
I don´t think anyone compares to her due to her beautiful spirit.,

So much more than a doctor to her patients. They don´t make them like her no more. She helped me cope with the loss of my husband, we cried, laughed at how he screamed when she revealed we were having a boy. I was a mess, and my visit held up her other patients...but she listened and counseled me. I walked out stronger than I went in. Absolutely don´t want another doctor as I will surely miss you. Rest in heaven.

Ellen was my ObGyn for probably 30 years. I LOVED. She was the best physician I ever had. She called me at 11:00 on night to tell me my diagnosis. But as a mom myself, she told me the story of when she and her husband were out of town and her daughter threw a party without their knowledge, and she took the license plate off her car and made her ride the street car to school every day. I was like, "you rock mom!" I will miss her beautiful personality and her smile. I´m so sorry for all y´all´s loss.

Dr Kruger was my doctor during a very difficult pregnancy. She always walked the balance of validation for what I was going through with hopefulness and positivity. She was thoughtful, kind, and graceful in what she did. I very much look up to her and she will be missed greatly.

Words can´t describe the pain I feel. Dr. Kruger (Kruger) was such an amazing human being, her love, kindness and compassion for others was a forever unconditional. Ellen was my first girlfriend -- way back in 8th grade. Two of my children live just down Newport Ave from her old home on Oak Grove. I think of her every time I go there. Especially her smile. No one can forget her smile.

My husband and I absolutely loved Dr. Kruger. I am so grateful to her for always being such a light and such a joy. She was so calming and so cool, and she had a great sense of humor, which always eased me when I needed it most. I must say when I heard I cried. I had two babies and she delivered them both with my many issues she took awesome care of me. She was on vacation and I had an issue she left her vacation to see about me. When ever we talked she always would see about me the love of someone with such a good heart who didn't even know me when she first met me. But showed nothing but love I was scared she stood by me and told me I was in good hands. I told her every time I saw her I loved her for always showing up. She was a beautiful soul. She will truly be missed.

I'm an emergency physician at main campus and will never forget a consult that Dr. Kruger did for one of my patients. The patient was very sick from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. We would normally have to transfer the patient to Baptist but Dr. Kruger said - nope, patient sounds too sick and instead drove over to main campus to operate, much to the relief of the ER team and the patient's family. She just struck me as such a caring physician and a great team player. What an incredible loss.

This world has lost a little of its sparkle. Dr Kruger was a force of nature who loved her patients quickly and without reservation. She shared in our lives and held our hands through both childbirth and tragedy. She was my OB through all 4 of our pregnancies though she missed one delivery because that kid wasn´t waiting for anyone. She grieved over the loss of our first child at 3 month old. We laughed together, cried together, loved Mardi Gras together (she was a Godiva Lady on horseback in the Muses parade). What an honor it has been to know this woman and what sadness that she was taken from us so soon. There are people you meet in life that draw you in and you sincerely hope only the best for them. Dr Kruger was one of those people. She will be greatly missed.

I was a patient of Dr. Kruger for 14 years. A friend recommended her to me saying she was a great doctor. That she was and more. I remember my last visit she came in the room and hugged and thanked me for driving to the westbank to see her. I told her you would have to move a lot further than that for me to not see you. She had a gift of comforting you and just listening to whatever was taking place in your life. She was always listening and showing compassion. I pray for your family through this difficult time. You are so missed and loved by so many because you truly touched so many lives in a wonderful way.

Kruger was such a caring, wonderful doctor. She delivered both of our girls and showed incredible kindness throughout both pregnancies - calmly spending time during each visit to answer every question I had, walking through through moments side by side with me, and then happily participating in the joy of each delivery. I am so grateful for my time with Dr. Kruger. She delivered both of my kids and was the best coach and mentor during the whole process. She gave you all the information straight, but she did it with wit and kindness. She ensured she was there to delivery both kids. With my oldest, she came back and forth to the hospital to eventually deliver her at 1:00am after a day and a half labor process. She listened and was an advocate for me through it all. Her presence brought so much ease not only to me but my husband as well for those long hours in the delivery room. She was the epitome of going above and beyond
I feel lucky to be cared for by her and will deeply miss her.

She was a doctor who actually took time and got to know her patients, not only on a health provider level, but on a personal level. Dr. Kruger was such a positive light and an amazing doctor. We were so lucky to have her deliver all three of our babies (including twins safely without a c-section). I always loved seeing the bulletin boards in her exam rooms covered with cheerful photos of her, the babies she delivered, and their parents. I hope her sincere warmth, joy for life, and joy for bringing new life into the world lives on with the residents she´s helped train.
