Elodie Dufour Obituary

Elodie "Dee" Tambrallo Dufour passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the age of 71. She was the beloved wife of 41 years to the late, Ronald Paul Dufour. She is survived by her loving children, Ronald Dufour (Jeanne), Christopher Dufour (Amanda), T.J. Dufour (Nicole), Paul Dufour (Cilver), Aimee Vaughn (Mike); loving Grandmother of Christina, Alexandra, Abigail, Joshua, Gage, Avery, Maddox, Luke, Charley and Wyatt. Predeceased by her parents, Laura Carlisi Tambrallo and John Manuel Tambrallo. Also survived by her sisters, Antoinette Hanning (late, Fred) and Laura J. Tambrallo and a host of nieces and nephews. Dee was a long time Account Clerk at Greenlawn Terrace Elementary School. She was an active member of the St. Philip Neri Grandparents Club and the Beginning Experience. She was a Pelicans season ticket holder and was heavily engaged in her grandkids' extracurricular activities. Dee went by many names in our family: Mom, Wootz, Gonald, Deester, Nan Taxi, Deedle, Grammie, Gonnie, Double Dee, Ms. Dee, and Dee Dee. Whatever name she went by, she was one of the most selfless and kind-hearted people. Her capacity to create a welcoming space to talk and to never judge was one of her many super-powers. She always without fail, put her family first and extended kindness and love to everyone she encountered. That love will live on in everyone that came into her orbit. She was easy to love and will be greatly missed by many. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001 on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with a Mass starting at 2:00 pm. Followed by interment.

My condolences to the family. I went to Holy Angels with Elodie. Later we would run into each other in the grocery or some other store. She was the sweetest friend and I will always remember her kindness.

In Dee´s obituary, we learned that she was called by many names. In her Beginning Experience of New Orleans ministry, we were all called the same name by Dee. And that was "Hon!" So, when we serve "Hon-ey" and biscuits, we will always remember our sweet team member, Dee.
