HARGIS Elsie S. Hargis, age 79, died on May 17, 2008 at 9:45 PM. She was a resident of Lockport, LA and a native of Valentine, LA. Survived by husband, Ralph V. Hargis; 1 son, Veron Hargis; 3 daughters, Lynn H. Vidrine, Alma H. Moore and Claire Hargis; 1 sister, Clara Chauvin; 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Allison and Erica Hargis, Chad Vidrine, Melissa Ferachi, Ashley and Amy Moore; 3 great-grandchildren, Grace and Allie Vidrine and Jackson Ferachi. Preceded in death by parents, Elves Savoie and Lena Blanchard Savoie. She retired from teaching at Lockport Jr. High School after 22 years. She also was a Sunday school teacher at and a member of Community Bible Church of Cut Off, LA. Visitation from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Community Bible Church, Cut Off, LA. Religious Service at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Community Bible Church, Cut Off, LA. Interment Holy Savoir Cemetery, Lockport, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Billy Graham Foundation. Arrangements under the direction of Falgout Funeral Homes, Inc. of Cut Off.

It will be so hard to look at that vacant spot where Elsie sat between Ralph and Vella for so many years. She has left us with lasting memories of how much she loved God and us. She challenged us on a weekly baisis to go deeper in our worship of and dedication to Jesus. She led the way! I look so forward to seeing her again. I wish that I could have been a fly on Heaven's wall as she saw Jesus for the first time. What joy!

What a beautiful women Mrs. Elsie was. I know she is having a wonderful time speaking face to face with the Lord. I will always remember her as a women who gave her whole heart to the Lord, and set a Godly example. She was truely a walking and living example of what the Lord calls us to be.

Dear Family, Elsie was the great example of what a Christian lady should be. Long ago, after years of leading children, she encouraged me to guide my first Bible study for ladies. Knowing she felt that I was ready for the change and knowing that she was praying for me, helped me to go on to that ministry. She helped so many of us. I will miss her and her wonderful smile.

Elsie's smile and loving ways will be missed. Even after she has passed her legacy of her love for Jesus is still attracting others to Christ. She will be missed, but the life that she lived for the Lord made an impact on many lives for eternity because of her relationship with Jesus.
