Emily FORET Obituary

FORET Emily Faye Keisman Foret entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the age of 64. A native of Prentiss, Mississippi, she was a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 16 years. She was the loving mother of two daughters, Erin Foret and Elizabeth Foret, and the loving grandmother of 3 year old Julie Faye. Also survived by her father, Paul Keisman of Prentiss, MS, sister Ella Keisman of Prentiss, MS, brother Johnny Keisman of Luling, LA and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Faye McCoy Keisman. She was a Registered Nurse graduate of St. Dominic's School of Nursing in Jackson, MS, and later completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from William Carey College. She truly enjoyed her vocation as a Registered Nurse for almost 40 years and was well respected and admired for her clinical expertise and compassionate care. Her career spanned many areas of nursing, including a 16 year tenure at Baptist Hospital New Orleans Dialysis Center. In the early 1970's, she was instrumental in securing a grant with two Baptist Hospital physicians that sent them all to open and train the staff of the first dialysis unit in Jakarta, Indonesia. She also spent many years working in various areas of the nursing field at Ochsner New Orleans, Kenner Regional, Ochsner Mandeville, and St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11am at Prentiss United Methodist Church, 2205 Leaf Ave., Prentiss, Mississippi 39474. Emily was one of my roommates in Mississippi Hall at Southern Miss. I remember her with great fondness and affection. She was full of fun and had a spirit of adventure. Erin, Elizabeth and Mr. Keisman-
My deepest sympathy to you and all your family. I was so saddened to hear of Emily's passing. I had the great pleasure of working with Emily for over 3 years in the Endo department at STPH.
