Emily Ural Obituary

Emily Bodden Ural passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2021 at the age of 91. She was the only child of the late Winifred Bush Bodden and Roy Fulton Bodden born December 22, 1929 in George Town, Grand Cayman. Emily was the wife of the late Capt. William "Bill" John Ural, Jr. Mother of David (Margaret), Lawrence (Kathleen), William (Michele), Tammy Ural and Leslie Ural, "Granny" to David Jr., Jason, Michael, Lance, Patrick and Caroline Ural, as well as 9 great-grandchildren. Emily arrived in the U. S. in 1936 on the SS Goldfield. Her father, a merchant seaman moved the family to the sea port towns of Tampa, Mobile and Port Arthur before settling in New Orleans. Before marriage Emily worked as a fashion artist. Her sketches featured clothing in print ads for Maison Blanche and other local department stores. When Emily and Bill started their family, they made Metairie their home where she remained until her passing. Happiest when surrounded by family, friends and pets, working in her garden or painting Emily truly enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She left us a lifetime of memories of her strength, love of life and infectious laughter. The family would like to express their gratitude to the teams of St. Catherine Hospice, Notre Dame Hospice and Lenare Jordon for the care and attention they devoted to her needs. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a family graveside service will be held on Friday, January 15 at Greenwood Cemetery.
