I'm sorry I just learned of this. He was not only a great musician, he was a faithful friend. He didn't have to leave New Orleans. I'm getting older now and hope to see him again. He could always make me laugh. I miss him.

I lived ten years in the States and had the honor to live with " uncle ernie" door on door in SA. Never will forget the fun we had. Im back in Germany and when i think about the states i think about Ernie...Thanks for beeing my friend. You always will be with us in the sparkle of the disco ball. Your friend Rudy

It was truly a pleasure to know Ernest and work with him for many, many years. He was a true gentleman. His wonderful stories always kept us amused and focused on what was really important after many long days. He brought a smile to everyone he touched. Our deepest sympathies to Angelika - we will always remember Ernie fondly - thank you for sharing him with us!

May God, THE ONE Who Created Everything, Will that your spirit has eternal peace. I have not seen or spoken with Ernest in many years but the friendship I had with his parents and siblings is still with me. I can still remember while learning to play clarinet that Ernest took time to teach me how to read the bass clef. I wanted to play bass but when he put his hands up to mine he said, Bro. you're going to have a hard time with this instrument with those small hands:) I stuck with clarinet . . . Thanks Ernest!
