I used to always say how sweet Evelyn was to everyone and then saw that Don included her nickname, Sweetie, to what he posted on Heritage's email.I didnt know that before!
Although I have her handiwork all around my house, I didnt realize all her other talents that Don wrote about in the Memorial booklet. I really miss talking to her after church when she was sitting on the bench by the front door waiting with her beloved husband until all members had left the building.

It is not possible to describe Miss Evelyn with words--rather she was thoughts, feelings, giving and doing. She loved doing things for others: crocheting special gifts, she made meals to share, taught others to crochet etc. All this even though she didn't always feel well.
When our son passed away she made a shawl for me--she said it was in honor of him. I will treasure not only the shawl, but the love she put in every stitch. We will see you again!

Mrs. Evelyn and her cooking will be sorrowfully missed. She was one of the best cooks I know. Loved her food and I really enjoyed it when she and her family coming up to visit during Katrina. And we always had a good time when we visited New Orleans and stayed with the family. She was very gracious and giving. Miss you.

Evelyn was a very compassionate friend of mine who always asked me about my 92 year old mother and our situations. Evelyn was always in prayer for her and that was such a comfort to me. Ken Scheffler

May 23, 2015 - A day the Angels in Heaven were singing at their very best in order to welcome Evelyn DiPascal home!
This wonderful lady has gone home before us causing two very different feelings within us; firstly, her leaving us has left an emptiness in our hearts that cannot be described, just felt deep within us; and secondly, a rejoicing in our spirits that cannot be described either, but we all as believers know that someday soon we will all be reunited with her and the rest of our wonderful congregation that has gone home to the Lord before us.
Thank you Evelyn for making our lives richer in knowing you!

We came to know "Mama E" only a couple of years ago when we visited HBC. On our second visit, despite the fact that Mama E was already advanced in years and illness we were made welcome with a measure of hospitality that is stated in 1Timothy 3:2 - expressed quite simply and beautifully in an invitation to fellowship over a meal together. Since that time, hers was the home opened to us, and hers was the heart that prayed not only for us, but also for our unsaved relatives. We were blessed to have known her. xoxo a,j,s,&e

Mrs. Evelyn Dipascal was a caring though woman that loved everybody. Evelyn always put other before her. Evelyn constantly croched all sorts of things and gave them away. When you were sick, Evelyn called to check on you. Evelyn lived a full life and will be missed. I pray that God will watch over Mr. Don. Rest in Peace Mrs. Evelyn.

I just thought I'd share this with her family Miss Evelyn was always in the break room when I got to church and we always had a conversation, the last time I spoke with her she asked how my daughter was doing because she knew my daughter has cancer and just wanted to find about a test she was doing. Then we went to my son who just had another child and she had a blanket and hat for him. She had a very kind heart she also knew I liked LSU so she made a beautiful purple and gold afcan for my bed. I'll never forget her kindness. My she RIP until we all reunite in Christ.

Mrs. Peachie, just wanted to thank you for your kindness and for always thinking of others with your beautiful crochet pieces. From the beautiful blankets, hats or so many other items you would create, one of which I have. I wish I had your creativity or had someone to show me how to do it. Mark would tell me stories of "Nanny Peachie" since you were Butch's Nanny, and of course, I knew you a long time with being friends with Lisa since we were little girls. I know you are blessed in heaven now with so many of our loved ones, yall watch over us!

Aunt Peachie as far back as i can remember always a smile on her face. Gave the biggest hugs. Always thoughtful, giving and sharing. Our home is full of unique gifts, noah and bradys crochet names in their camo color scarfs. Mardi Gras hats! Saints slippers. Christmas ornaments with our penny of birth year. Starbucks coffee hand holders for me! I could go on our home is full. I also remember seeing photos when my mom was pregnant for me, my baby shower was given in her garage.....

Many regarded Peachie's crocheting talent as her gift. Yes, crocheting was one of her many talents. But Peachie's true gift was blessing everyone she touched. And since her boys and I were around her more than any others, we received the greatest blessings from her. My Sweetheart was truly a special child of God.

Peachie was one in a million. Always had a big heart and ready to lend a hand. I have many wonderful memories when in my teen years as she and I went many places together. While she will be sadly missed by those of us who are still here, I feel blessed that I have a new guardian angel watching over me in heaven.

Peachie had the heart of gold, always, always thinking of others. We talked almost everyday. I miss her phone calls, I miss her voice. She was always special to me. I know she's in a better place, free from pain and suffering and that's a comfort. May she RIP!
