Francine Glago Obituary

Francine Stern Glago, age 82, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, February 12, 2022. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Francine was born on October 10, 1939, to the late Fannie "Faye" (Handler) and Jacob Stern. She was the sister of the late Seymour Stern of New York. Francine was the devoted wife of the late Sheldon "Shelly" Glago for more than 56 years and the loving mother of Jason Glago (Adriana) and Mark Glago (Stacy) of New Orleans. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Julia, Jacqui, Jacob and Emily Glago; as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Francine was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, before later settling in Manalapan, NJ, where she raised her family and worked many years for the Board of Education. Francine and Shelly later retired to Boyton Beach, FL, where they happily lived out their golden years until moving to New Orleans to be closer to family in 2018. Francine was happiest when spending time with her close family, singing her favorite songs, such as "You Are My Sunshine," or cruising around the world with her husband and their friends. Francine was a "looker" with a beautiful soul and fierce spirit. She was loved by so many that had the privilege of knowing her and will be deeply missed. A private memorial service was held at the family's request. The family also wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Inspired Living of Kenner and Egan Caregivers, including Deonka Smith and especially Rhonda Pinnace, her constant companion for the last four years, for their care and compassion.
