George Corcoran Obituary

George Dewey Corcoran, Jr., a retired industrial roofing and siding superintendent with Taylor Sidenback, died of lung disease Thursday, December 8, 2005 in Gonzales, La. Mr. Corcoran was 76. He was born in New Orleans, LA and lived there for 58 years before moving to Gonzales, LA. He attended Sacred Heart and S.J. Peters schools, New Orleans. He was in the Navy, a member of the Carpenters Union, and a parishoner of St. Anthony of Padua, New Orleans. Mr. Corcoran enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, George D. Corcoran, Sr. and Hazel Catherine Wesner Corcoran; his first wife, Mae Dale Theriot Corcoran; and two brothers, Lewis John and Joseph Stanley Corcoran. Survivors include his loving wife, Doris Melancon; three devoted sons, Dwight, Mark, and Brian Corcoran, Sr.; 3 daughter-in-laws, Raberta Gaudet Corcoran, Raberta St. Romain Corcoran and Bronwyn Mehrtens Corcoran; 4 step-children, Olin Berthelot, Johnny Bertholet, Gilly Berthelot and Melanie Melancon Berthelot; three brothers, George Calvin, August Dudley and John Thomas ""Jack'' Corcoran and one sister Mary Ann Corcoran Chestant; 8 grandchildren, Scott, Alicia, Christopher, Brian, Brendon, Samantha, Bronwyn, and Bryce Corcoran; 12 step-grandchildren, and 6 step-greatgrandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the Funeral Services, which will be held on Monday, December 19, 2005 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1022 North Burnside, Gonzales, La. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. A mass at 12:00 noon will be celebrated by Msgr. Clinton Doskey. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Children's Hospital.
