Obituary of George "Pops" Davis III. Sunrise on December 18, 1950. George Davis III was born in Charity Hospital, New Orleans, LA, to the union of George Davis Jr. and Beatrice M. Duplessis. He was one of 8 children. He attended Violet Consolidated School and McDonough Number 40, New Orleans, LA. Later in life he received formal training as a truck driver. He worked for North American Vanlines, Virginia Concrete Company in Washington, DC. He worked at Kaiser Aluminum Company. He worked at J.D. Eckman. His last place of employment at the age of 70 was at Vernon Williams Trucking Company in Violet, LA. George was the life of the party everywhere. He went with his charismatic saying "Don't Be No Fool and What I Told You"! That carried a message. George was baptized at Mount Pilgrim Baptist by Pastor Jackie Davis. He joined Bethlehem Church with Reverend Dr. Michael Wade Jiles Sr. He also attended Holy Redeemer House of Prayer and Deliverance along with his sister, Pastor Patricia Edwards in Lancaster, PA. Christian Fellowship Family Worship Center was his final church under Bishop Henry Ballard Jr. George had a relationship with God. He referred to him as "Master". He leaves to cherish in his memory his separated wife Gwendolyn Bienemy-Davis and his beloved soulmate Carolynn Ann Richards. George had 3 children and nieces that he treated as daughters, Angela Davis-Udensi, (Francis Udenis) George Davis IV (Natasha Davis), and Sha'Day Frazier-Davis, Kiana Baker-Suggs (Scott Suggs), Bridget Baker, and Glenda Baker. His grandchildren, Sharelle L. Davis, Briana L. Davis, George Davis V, Brayden Davis. His great-grandchildren Ahmiyah N. Davis, Jamel Morton, and Amarri Davis. His brothers and sisters, late Donald Davis, late Floyd Duplessis, Patricia Edwards (late Timothy Edwards), Joycelyn Baker-Griffin (Late Myron Griffin) Evelyn Brooks (Karl Brooks), Peter Davis and Gregory Davis (Shelia Davis), aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his friends that he loved dearly. Service will be on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11:00 am at Christian Fellowship Family Worship Center, 5816 E. Judge Perez Dr., Violet, LA 70092. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the hour of service. Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Funeral Directors, 4101 St. Claude. Ave., New Orleans, LA 70117. He said his last goodbyes and went home to be with the Master Jesus.
