George Klumpp Obituary

George Franklin Klumpp, Jr., of Mandeville, Louisiana, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital after a short and tough battle with cancer. He was 73. Born on April 10, 1951, in New Orleans, LA, George was the son of George and Ann Klumpp, lifelong residents of New Orleans. George worked as an accountant for the Legislative Auditors Office from 1975 to 1988 and for the St. Tammany Parish Assessor's Office from 1988 to 2011. On April 5, 1974, he married the love of his life, Jo Ann Kobrock of River Ridge, LA. George is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, daughter Gretchen and her husband Rance Templet, New Orleans, son Kevin and his wife, Micah, Gonzales, LA, Allyson and husband Chris John, Kennesaw, Georgia, six grandchildren: Katie Belle and Alex Klumpp, Sydney and Reid Templet, and Mallory and Trevor John. George is also survived by his brother, Ronald, and sisters, Linda Klumpp, Carol Scheinuk, Susie Allbright, and Paula Jackson. George was a gifted athlete who participated in swimming, flag football, tennis, and pickleball, just to name a few. His greatest joys came from his family and friends. Our fondest memories of George include his magnetic personality, infectious laugh, quick-witted one-liners, love of animals, passion for music, and culinary skills, specifically boiled crawfish. A private family service will be held at a later date. Our family would like to personally thank George's medical team at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. In George's memory, the family requests that donations be placed to the St. Tammany Health Foundation, https://sthfoundation.planmygift.org/memorials-and-tribute-gifts.
