Dear Catherine and family,
George was a dear, dear gentleman. I got to know him in 1989 when I joined the consular corps. George was always in a good mood, very solicitous and gentlemanly. He was loved by all. He still attended a recent Consular Corps luncheon and we enjoyed talking to him. Casey and I offer our sympathy to you and the family. It was a privilege to have known George and he will remain one of my favorite persons. I hope that the outpouring of love for him may be a comfort to you.

On behalf of the Greater New Orleans OB/GYN we send our deepest condolences. He was a lifelong member, very well liked with his peers and a very passionate and kind person. He is at peace and will be missed deeply. May God grant the family strength and peace of mind knowing he is with his maker. Peace be with you all.

I really, really wanted to attend the service for my old friend and partner, but weather on the Causeway made that impossible.

Uncle George as we called him will be greatly missed. We were blessed to have him as such a major figure in our family. We have so many treasured memories to savor from weddings, baptisms, sunday gatherings, all holidays, mardi gras, balls, fishing trips, food and libations at New Orleans finest restaurants, football games, etc etc!! Uncle George brought a light to every occasion and such warmth, love and laughter that we all were so grateful and better for having been recipents of all of these amazing characteristics...too many to list. His distinct voice will be etched in our memories as well! Cherie, we love you and pray God's grace and love fill you and give you peace and keep surrounding yourself with your amazing family and dear friends.
Sincerely,
The LeJeune family

Dr. Schneider was my mentor and teacher during a six week Gyn rotation at Ochnner Hospital and Clinic in 1973. He was a kind, patient, and very experienced teacher and surgeon. He left a life long impression on me about how one could and should treat one's colleagues and patients. What a fine Physician and Gentleman he was.

George was the Dean of OB/GYN in New Orleans for decades. He welcomed me when I arrived in New Orleans and was a steadfast supporter of The OB/GYN department at LSU and the Greater New Orleans OB/Gyn Society. He always treated Susan and me like family for the 18 years we lived in New Orleans. He will be truly missed by the community.
