George Stone Obituary

George "Lee" Stone passed away from complications of Alzheimer's at the age of 83 on Saturday February 11, 2023 in Pensacola, FL near his home in Milton, FL. Born March 31, 1939 in San Diego, he lived in several places around the country as the son of a Naval officer, before settling in Hot Springs, AR. Lee earned his Masters degree from Arkansas State Teachers College and taught high school biology with the Lonoke School District before leaving education for a law enforcement career. Lee had a long career as a DEA agent in New Orleans until retirement when he moved to work with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and Gulf Coast HIDTA. He finally retired fully to enjoy life in Lacombe. He was a history buff who enjoyed reading, music, movies, cooking, sausage making, brewing beer and spending time with his family. He had a passion for guns, was a member of SASS, the Single Action Shooting Society and was an avid cat lover. Lee is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Pat Stone, his two daughters Shannon LeBlanc (Christopher) and Tania Schoolcraft (Keith, two step-daughters, Sierra Cotton (Kevin) and Lark Baker (Woody), and grandchildren Zachary LeBlanc, Philip LeBlanc, Chloe LeBlanc and Kaitlynn Schoolcraft. He also leaves behind brother Howard Stone (Deborah) of CA and sister Jeanne Huff (Johnny) of AR, nieces and a nephew, step grandchildren, cousins and many other family and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother Edna Oster Stone, father Charles B Stone, former wife and mother to his two daughters, Robbie Stone and nephew Michael Nahas. The family wishes to thank Sodalis Senior Living in Milton, FL and the Covenant Care Hospice Center in Pensacola, FL for their loving care.
