Gerald Cassese Obituary

CASSESE Gerald A. Cassese Bendix expediter and WWII vet, of Berkeley Township, 86 Gerald A. Cassese, 86, of the Berkeley Township section of Toms River, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at Community Medical Center of Toms River. Visitation will be at the QuinnHopping Funeral Home of Toms River, 26 Mule Rd., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church, Toms River, on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Memorial tributes may be sent to www.mem.com. Born in Newark, Mr. Cassese lived many years in Belleville before retiring to Toms River 20 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was an expediter for the Bendix Corporation in Belleville for many years. Mr. Cassese was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lou, who passed away last year; a sister, Anna Wiedman and two brothers, Vito and Henry Cassese. Surviving are two sisters, Edith Del Grosso and Angelina Rosania, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in his memory to either Silver Ridge Park Westerly First Aid Squad or St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
