Gerald Cowart Obituary

COWART Gerald Cowart was born January 6, 1944 in New Orleans, LA. He passed on Wednesday, April 11, 2007. A graduate of George Washington Carver in New Orleans, LA and a retiree of General Motors Corporation, Fisher Body Division, Pontiac, Michigan. Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Kinder Cowart, Sr.; brother, Kinder Cowart, Jr.; and two daughters, Shawn and Nicole Cowart. Gerald leaves to mourn his mother, Irmatine Cowart; his wife, May Cowart; his daughter, Connie (Marvin) Hudson; son, Gerald ""Beenie'' Cowart, Jr.; two step-sons, Vincent (Veronica) East and Larry East; four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (Alfred) Polite; two brothers, Ellis Cowart and Samuel (Virginia) Cowart; six nieces; two nephews; two aunts; and a host of other relatives and friends. Burial: Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.

I went to Lockett Elementary School, and Gerald was one of my best friends. I have not seen him since 7th grade, but I never forgot him.
