Gerald Solomon Stevens, Sr. departed this life on Monday, April 26, 2004 at 4:00 PM at West Jefferson Medical Center. Beloved husband of Cynthia D. Stevens. Father of Gerald S. Stevens, Jr., Kami S. Braden, Akeila S. Stevens, Karissa R. Stevens and Alisha M. Stevens. Son of Joseph and Ruth C. Stevens. Grandson of the late Joseph and Anna Stevens and George and Flossie Conway. Grandfather of Jayon Pierrenoel, Eva Jone' Jones, Gerald Jones and Na'che Byrd. Brother of Earl Williams, III, David, Gordon and Marc (Deborah) Stevens, Judy (Glenn) Ellis, Polly (Ronald) Rosemond and Djuna Stevens. Son-in-law of Edric and Mildred Daniel. Father-in-law of Christopher Braden. Brother-in-law of Katherine (Arnold) Davillion, Mary (Robert) Jason, Erica (Harry) Hall, Anna Bell Webb, Ava (Phillip) Johnson and Edric Daniel, Jr. Nephew of Virda McDonald and the late James Stevens and Shirley M. Bailey. Uncle of the late Earl Williams, IV and Reginald J. Rice. Also survived by 20 nieces, 16 nephews, 22 great nieces, 11 great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Age 48 years. A native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers and Members of St. Stephens B.C., Regular B.C., St. James M.B.C., St. Anthony B.C. and all neighboring churches; faculty and staff of Lincoln Elementary School, John Ehret High School, Cherbonnier Lucille Elementary, Catherine Strehle, Entergy, Kroll Laboratory Specialist and McDonald are invited to attend the Funeral Service from Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA. on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Norman Francis, officiating. (No Wake). Visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment Restlawn Cemetery-Avondale, LA. Family guest book may be sign at www.legacy.com. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA.
