To the family of Geraldine, please know that you have my deepest sympathy. When Geraldine was at Little Zion in Gerttown I was a member of the choir there and she often had me to sing the reoordings of Albetina Walker, Shirley Caesar and believe it or not the Williams Brothers. I would say to her that Albertina's songs were hard to do and she would say "ok but you can do it." She was an inspiration to me and I was sad to hear of her homegoing. Yes, there is a great choir in Heaven including the late Leonard Ransom and Joseph Trent. Take your rest Geraldine, you fought a good fight!

It saddens me to just find out that my godmother has gone on to heaven. I feel really bad that I didn't know and don't know anyone who could have notified me. The last time I saw my nanny was at my mother's (the late Marve Wright's) funeral. My daughter and I went to Carrollton on Novemeber 15th and I was telling her stories of my godmother and how one of my nanny's favorite restaurant's was the Five Happiness. I am going to miss her, she lived a good life and had a good fight!
I know you, mama, mommie (Mattie Gilbert), Samuel Berfect, my godbrother Raymond Myles, Christine Myles and a lot others are going to tear it up in heaven! Rest Nanny!!

Nanny rest on. You are in no more pain, and your body has been made whole. The Lord knew your struggle and has called you home for eternal rest. I know that you will be and are missed. I am so glad that we were able to reconnect at a time when you were being honored while you were here. I enjoyed all the time we spent together and so happy that we had it. Surely earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. I am sad that you are gone. But I am grateful and blessed to know that you are home with God. I didn't get to spend time with you, but whenever you came to Baton Rouge and I got to see you, I was greeted with that warm smile and a hug to hold onto. I sang in the choir under Sis. Washington as minister of music at Little Zion BC but knew her well before when I was a member of Gloryland Mt. Gillion BC for 41 years. I still have a CD of singing "One Day at a Time" when she played the piano for me, a truly anointed gift God had given her.
Lifting the family in prayer - she fought and survived a long fight through her faith in God.
