Gerard O'Sullivan Obituary

Gerard L. O'Sullivan, "Jerry," passed away on March 3, 2023, at the age of 78. He was born on April 7, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Gerard W. and Anna Mae Schlesinger O'Sullivan. Gerard attended De La Salle High School in New Orleans and after graduation went on to serve his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Air Force. Upon returning home from his military service, Gerard began working as a draftsman for the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, where he remained for over 30 years until his retirement. He is survived by; his brother, James T. O'Sullivan (Clara); niece, Jennifer; and nephew, Dennis (Danielle). He is also survived by his great niece and nephew, Riley Mignon and James Kenneth, as well as many other family members. Family and friends are invited to a funeral mass on Monday, March 27, 2023 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue, Metairie, at 11 am. Visitation will begin in the church at 10 am. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
