I found out tonight about Greg's passing. I'd moved away from Baton Rouge in 2000. I happen to come across a former UPS co-worker by chance where we caught up on old times. She told me of his untimely passing...

I worked with Greg throughout the 90's at UPS... He garnered my respect and admiration early on... I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and for him during my time at UPS... As they say, "He was one of the good guys"... My sincere condolences to his wife Dana and family...

Babe as I sit here waiting for this Hurricane to make its appearance I have to admit that I am missing you and our son more than you know. I remember the time when we were in Cozumel and we missed the Hurricane by 2 hours, only to have it come to New Orleans 2 days after we got home :). You always possessed the gift to "talk me down" whenever I got wound up. I know that you are both looking out for us and that comforts me. I miss you so much and I look forward to the day that we are reunited. You always have been and always will be the "Love of My Life."

Hi Daddy. Words cannot express how much I miss you. It's a new year and things are changing, but my love for you and memories of you will be forever. Everyday I wake up and wish that what is my reality were only a dream. I wish that I could pick up the phone and hear your voice once again. I wish I could look into your eyes once more and see the bright, shining light of your soul reflect into my eyes. Although I may not show it as much, I think about you every single day and wish that you were here with me again. When I graduated, I imagined you sitting there looking down at me as I walked across the stage. Although you were not physically there, I know you were walking right along side of me. I think about the fact that whenever I do get married, you will not be able to walk me down the aisle to give me away. No one can fill those shoes for you. But I also know that you will be there for me even though I can't see you or talk to you or hug you. You are and have always been my hero. I love you so much daddy. Please look out for me, mom, and Kyle.

Dana and family,

Dana, you were heavy on my mind around the time of your birthday because I was thinking our tradition of contacting each other on birthdays had stopped before Katrina. Since the storm, I have been unable to reach you by phone. I called many times but no answer. Yet, thoughts of you persisted. Then I heard the tragic news from Dionne. I am so sorry. I had to go back to my wedding pictures to see you and Greg walking down the aisle in support of me and Reg. I grieve with you and pray that your days of mourning will not be long, but will be replaced with the joys of fond memories. Call me whenever you can. I would love to hear your voice again. I am praying for you and the family.

My Dearest Daughter, I wish there was some way I could take away your hurt. I would do it a thousand times over. Life is not always fair, but God is always faithful. He hears our faintest cry. Trust in God and you will know, He can vanquish any woe; Simply trust Him day by day and He will be your strength to stay. To my grandchildren Kyle and Kayla, I know you miss your Dad, but I want all of you to remember, when the sunshine of God's love meets the showers of your sorrow, the rainbow of promise appears.
