Halton Newman Obituary

NEWMAN Halton Leo Newman, Sr., a retired brick mason for over fifty years, entered into eternal peace and rest with our Heavenly Father on Friday, February 15, 2008 at Ochsner Foundation Clinic. Age 101. He was employed and a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama Local 6. He was malso a proud Army Veteran. Son of the late Ruben and Julia Newman. Loving father of Halton Leo Newman, Jr. (Betty). Brother of the late Myrtle Newman-Johnson, Leonard and Ruben Newman, Jr. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and countless friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of Blessed Sarament Catholic Church, employees and staff of Meadow Crest Living Center and Ochsner Foundation Clinic (Jefferson Hwy) are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5018 Constance St. from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Father Howard Byrd, S.S.J. Celebrant, Interment Resthaven Memorial Park. No Wake. You may sign the guest book on nola.com/obits.
