Hazel Marie "Ruth" Adams

Hazel "Ruth" Marie Adams, 88 years old, of Avondale, LA passed away on April 30, 2024. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She is survived by her children, Beverly Guidroz (Keitsie), Jewel "Buck" Adams (Mary), Gail Adams, Brenda Nieves (DJ), Stephen "Mike" Adams (Debbie) and Elizabeth "Liz" Marie (Bubby). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed by all, especially her loving cousin Suzanne Cambre. Ruth was born in New Orleans, LA. She worked at Catherine Strehle School for over 20 years. Ruth enjoyed shopping with her girls, casino trips and traveling. She also loved her sons for all the attention they gave her when needed. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 year, Jewell "JD" Adams, her parents Mae and Ambrose Guillotte, her siblings Helen Hagerdon and Nelson Guillotte and her grandson Sonny Paul Adams. The family invites friends and family to a funeral service on Monday, May 6, 2024 at St. Bonaventure Church, 329 South Jamie Blvd., Avondale, LA. The visitation will start at 8:00 am followed by a Mass at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1255 Whitney Ave., Gretna, LA. Ruth will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all that knew her.
