Hazel Lasserre Cornelius died on August 1, 2004. Daughter of the late Bruno and Ada Jasmine Lasserre. Wife of the late Oliver Cornelius. Mother of Elmo (Sufia) and Stephen (Pearl) Cornelius, Olivia (Val) Crawford, Linda High, Brenda (Edward) Downs, Marylyn Griffin-Johnson, Vanessa Hooks, Jacqueline (Charles) Davis, and the late Yolander Keys. Sister of Edward, Russell, Alvin and Warren Lasserre, Almedgia Garrett, Hilda Lewis, and the late Sidney and Irvin Lasserre and Bernadette Wilbert. Daughter-in-law of the late Harrison and Sedonia Cornelius. Sister-in-law of Clarence, Raynard, Lee, Anna Mae, Eva, Doretha, and the late Lillian, Lucille, Samuel, Lawrence, Morene, and Selina. Also survived by 27 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at Duplain W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment: Providence Cemetery. Arrangements by Duplain W.
