Helen LaCombe Obituary

Helen "Nanan" Elizabeth LaCombe passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the age of 62. Helen was born on May 6, 1960 in New Orleans, LA to her late father, Camile "Boogie" LaCombe, and surviving mother, Mary E. LaCombe. Helen is also survived by her three brothers: Gregory (Liz), Mark (Christi), and Michael (Kathryn). Helen will forever be Nanan to her surviving nieces and nephews: Taylor Naccari (Chris, Cole, and Brynn), Blake (Rachel, Emma, and Madeleine), Chase (Ashley), Reese (Haley), and Ethan LaCombe; she loved them as her own. Helen attended St. Philip Neri Catholic School and Archbishop Chapelle High School, followed by her successful college and teaching career. Throughout her life, Helen often referenced the great times and years spent with her family and friends at the Spider's Web bar on Elysian Fields. Helen began working at East Jefferson General Hospital in 1986. Helen retired after 33 years of service as a radiologic technologist. Helen loved her family and friends dearly; the stories she would share, and her memory will never be forgotten. All relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Metairie, 6500 Kawanee Avenue, on Friday, March 31, 2023, beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass thereafter.

Every visit I had with Helen was memorable. Her sense of humor was infectious. When she visited in Wisconsin, laughter was the menu for each day. Her love of family was paramount. I truly regret not having spent more time with her. I am sure she will become lead harpist in the orchestra in the sky.
