Helen Richard Obituary

RICHARD Helen Bourg Richard passed away on Friday, December 12, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Gustave Richard. Mother of George Perkins and his wife, Cathy and the late Cathy Ann Bordelon and her husband, David. Daughter of the late Bridgette Arcement Bourg and Leon Bourg. Grandmother of Bart, Bret, Vikki and Ashley. Great grandmother of Kristen, Deedra, Chase and Jamie. Also survived by her loving friend, Joe Slocum. She was 79 years of age, a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. The family extends their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Zielinski and to the doctors and staff of ICU at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital for their compassion and care during her illness. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, December 15, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. My Mother, Dorothy Valdin, and Mrs. Helen have been friends since I was a young girl. I haven't seen her in many years but I remember spending a couple of summers going swimming and hanging out with her at her townhouse. She was always fun to be with and a very good friend.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
