Helena "Helen" Jones

Helena (Helen) Levata Jones, at age 75, passed away in Lufkin, TX on January 28, 2016 from natural causes. Helen was a native of New Orleans, LA., until she and her beloved husband, (Joe), to whom she was married for 56 years, retired to Southern Mississippi. Helen spent her final days at The Joseph House in peace, surrounded by family. Helen was born October 29, 1940 in New Orleans to Anthony and Alice Burke Levata. She is survived by her brother Anthony T. Levata of Slidell La. and sister Kathleen Levata Rief of Vero Beach, Fla. Helen graduated from Holy Angels High School. Helen is survived by her daughter, Dr. Rose Jones of Dallas and her son Michael Joseph Jones of Bryan, TX. Helen has five grandchildren, Zola Watsky, Jakob Watsky, Aliana Campos-Jones, Ariela Campos-Jones, and Ambrose Campos-Jones. Helen is predeceased by her spouse, Joseph 'Joe' Jones and son, William 'Billy' Jones. A celebratory mass will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 1611 Feagin Dr. Lufkin, TX 75904 on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 10am by Fr. Joe Kannampuzha. Helen's special gift for writing is expressed in her legacy, Pockets of My Heart. Her final wish is that family and friends receive a copy of her book, soon to be published. Helen wrote many poems throughout her life and her last poem was written three days before her husband passed away on October 23, 2014. My Joe, I wish that we would not grow old. I wish I had your hand to hold. I'll never ever let you go. I'll give to you just ever so. I cannot wait to see you Joe; As long as there is life to go.
