Herman Gresse Obituary

GRESSE Herman J. "Dutch" Gresse passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2009. Beloved father of Bruce J. Gresse (Mary Beth) and Patricia Gresse Tyson (Larry). Cherished grandfather of Zachary J. Tyson. Dad was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Gulotta Gresse and brothers Robert J. Gresse and Merlin Gresse. Survived by his sisters Edlee G. Karrigan (Conrad) and Gloria G. Tepavchevich of Chicago and sister-in-law Blanche Gulotta. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Dad was a proud veteran of WW II and a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. Agnes Catholic Church as well as a member of American Legion Post 0267. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchar-train Blvd. at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 23, 2009. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Please view and sign the Family Guestbook, at www.lakelawnmetairie.com.

Uncle Dutch (what Eric and Elliott called him) was so loving to my boys and all of us. It was so nice to see so much of him in the past year. I would walk into my mom and dad's house and he would be there getting ready to go to Harrahs or out to eat with my parents. He will be missed very much!

The Gresse Family,
It was such a pleasure to have been a friend to Dutchie for many years. He has been like a surrogate Dad to Buddy.We have such fond and fun memories to keep with us forever. Thanks for including us with all the events the past few weeks. We look forward to a continued friendship with Dutch's family.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I loved Dutch so much he was a really sweet and kind man. I know this is a very difficult time for all just remember all the happy memories you hold with your wonderful Dad. That has always help me.
