Hugues Farnet Obituary

Hugues J. "Pete" Farnet, III passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017. Pete was born in New Orleans on August 5, 1953. Preceded in death by his parents, the late Hugh J. Farnet, Jr. and Mary Lynn Parent Farnet. For the last 17 years, Pete lived in Slidell, LA. Pete was the loving brother of Leslie Price (Johnny), Chris Farnet, and Jeanne Paisant (John). He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Jenna Price Rice (Brent), Justin Price, Anthony LaGuardia, Jr. (Brittani), Kallie Collins, John Paisant, III, and Cecilia Paisant. Pete is also survived by his great-nieces, Abigail Rice, Lucy Rice and Mia LaGuardia. He is also survived by many cousins. Pete was a proud graduate of Brother Martin High School where he was a member of the 1972 Crusader State Football Champions. He was also a graduate of LSU and forever pulled for the Tigers. Pete began his career in the oil & gas industry in 1981 with Vetco Gray and retired in 2013 with GE Oil & Gas. His love of family, Br. Martin and LSU inspired many. Pete loved fishing and being on Lake Pontchartrain in his prized Regulator. Many of his friends and his dog Bud enjoyed being with him on the water, especially the "Midnight Cruises". Pete was a loving, caring soul who never met a stranger. Kind words for everyone was his trademark. He loved and was loved. Pete will be missed by many. Pete, you were a special friend in grammar and in High School. I'm confident we'll meet in another time and place and will gladly play football again with you for Clendon & TJ. I know you'll remember one special play in 1967 - Speed Pass to the Swingman on Two. So long my friend till we meet again...

So sad to know another is gone too soon. Exactly one year ago I lost my brother who knew Pete since their days at Brother Martin. He always spoke highly of him. I'm sorry I never got a chance to take that boat ride he offered. God bless the entire Farnet family. I know Pete will be sadly missed.
